New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) The Delhi Book Fair is turning out to be an attraction for students of both schools and colleges here on the second day itself today.

Students thronged the stalls of the fair with great enthusiasm as they were in awe of the display of varied collection of popular books by around 300 publishers from across the country and outside.

Ms Sonia Sahni, a student of ICFAI Business School and a self-confessed avid reader, said, ''I am amazed to see such a huge variety of books under one roof. In two hours, I have bought 10 books and I plan to come a couple of days more.'' Stalls like that of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) are a crowd-puller. ''It is good that IGNOU has set up a stall in the book fair. Study material is not available easily and this initiative will help students.'' Exclusive books, written and published by IGNOU itself, are available at the stall.

Meanwhile, the day's attraction was a presentation by Google, the world's largest search engine on internet. Methods to reach targetted links were explained with emphasis on backend search.

Jointly organised by the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the fair would be open to the public at Hall Nos 8-12A at Pragati Maidan from 1000 hrs to 2000 hrs till September 7.

The theme for this year's fair is ''Women Writing'' as an acknowledgement of the growing contribution of women in this field.

Prominent among the 30 women authors invited are Sahitya Akademi Award winner Anita Desai, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi, IAS officer Vandana Kumari Jena and Principal of Lakshman Public School Usha Ram.
