Tiruchirapalli, Aug 31 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has appealed to all secular parties to support Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to become the Prime Minister of the country.
Talking to newspersons after a meeting of the party's 10th anniversary celebration here yesterday, Party State President A P Kesavan and State convener A G Ramachandran said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the meeting.
They said the meetiong also appealed to the Cetral and Tamil Nadu governments to implement the Hogenekkal drinking water supply project immediately.
Expressing concern over the erratic power supply in the state, they urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to take measures on war footing and find out a suitable solution for the present power crisis.
The Party's State Coference would be held in October this year, they said, adding, Party national president Lalu Prasad and other leaders would attend the meeting.
The venue of the conference would be decided later, they added.
