Deposit balance amount, opt for accommodation during Haj pilgrimage

Srinagar, Aug 31 (UNI) Asking Hajj pilgrims to deposit balance of foreign exchange, the Jammu and Kashmir Hajj Committee (J&KHC) has also directed them to select their choice of accommodation to during the pilgrimage.

The Executive Officer Jammu and Kashmir State Hajj Committee Srinagar, has informed all Hajj pilgrims to deposit balance of foreign exchange, in accordance with the accommodation category opted by them and separately the amount of advance airfare of Rs 12000 per pilgrim.

The pilgrims have to deposit Rs 74, 240 for Green Category, Rs 64, 924 for White Category, Rs 63, 759 for Aziziya Category and Rs 71, 911 Special Category.

The balance amount of foreign exchange as applicable to the pilgrims with reference to the category of accommodation opted and the advance airfare of Rs 12000 per pilgrim is required to be remitted through Core Banking System across various branches of the State Bank of India to the Hajj Committee of India's current bank account in Mumbai.

The pay-in-slips have been sent by the Hajj Committee of India, Mumbai to the Heads of Covers through post.

He said the last date for remittance of balance foreign exchange and advance airfare amount to the Hajj Committee of India, Mumbai is September 30, 2008.

He said according to Chief Executive Officer, Hajj Committee of India, Mumbai, due to large scale demolition of buildings near Haram Sharief, it has become difficult to get buildings in White Category.

In order to handle the shortfall in White Category, it has been decided to provide option to the pilgrims either to upgrade to Special category or opt to stay at far off areas.

The selected pilgrims are informed that the accommodation rentals for special category have been fixed as Saudi Riyal 2800 per unit.

The pilgrims of White and Aziziya Category are advised to opt accommodation in Special Category and inform this office at the earliest.
