Centre initiates steps to solve power problem in TN
Chennai, Aug 31 (UNI) Union Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today said the Union Government is taking steps to solve the power problem faced by Tamil Nadu.
Talking to newspersons here, after his arrival at the airport by Indian flight in the evening, Mr Shinde said he is in the city only on a personal visit to attend a marriage function.
The minister said power shortage confronts not only Tamil Nadu, but is prevalent all over India.
He said despite the problem plaguing the entire nation, the gravity of the situation in the state was accorded priority when the centre recently allotted an additional 100 MW power supply to mitigate the problems of the people, to some extent, if not to a great extent.
