Boiler drum reaches thermal power plant in Haryana
Chandigarh, Aug 31 (UNI) A boiler drum weighing about 289 MT reached the construction site of 1200 MW Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plant, Khedar in Hisar, which will be installed at a height of 80 meters on boiler steel structure.
A spokesman of Haryana Power Utilities said that the boiler was transported, on an extra heavy duty trailer having 128 wheels and powered by two engines, each of 500 HP capacity, from Kandla port, travelling around 1400 kilometers. The boiler drum has been supplied by Shanghai Electric Company, China.
He said that the boiler drum, 26.50 metre in length and having a 1.743 metre internal diameter and 2.127 metre external diameter, is a vital organ for boiler which separates the steam and water for further superheating.
The drum will be lifted with the help of four hydraulic jacks in the next 10-12 days and it will make about 4-5 hours to reach at its position for which preparations were going on.
