Addressing a big rally in the capital, called by the unauthorised colony Mahasangh, Mr Rajnath Singh said while a majority of Muslims staying in the state of Jammu Kashmir were faithful to India, a number of sections in the community harboured successionist tendencies. ''Such sections should be identified as soon as possible and tried for treason,'' Mr Singh said.
Speaking at the rally, Mr Singh, expressing happiness over resolution of the Amarnath issue, described it as a fruitful culmination of the 58-day struggle by the Amarnath Shrine Board. ''After the resolution of the issue, all facilities would be available to the Amarnath pilgrims,'' Mr Singh said.
Held at the Ramlila Grounds in Delhi, the rally was attended by several prominent BJP leaders including former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Mr Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Gopinath Munder, Ravi Shanker Prasad, BJP General secretary Vijay Goel, Delhi BJP chief Harshvardhan, Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Legislative assembly Jagdish Mukhi, Delhi Mayor Aarti Mehra, party MLAs and councillors.
