RJD politicising flood situation in Bihar : JD(U)
Patna, Aug 30 (UNI) The JD(U) today expressed concern over RJD politicising the flood situation in Bihar and said all political parties should cooperate with the state government in meeting the challenges instead of extracting political mileage.
State unit president of the party Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh said the RJD leaders were making baseless allegations on the flood situation in Bihar.
The state government had initiated steps for checking the erosion of eastern Kosi embankment on August 5 but due to lack of cooperation from the Nepal government, it could not be executed near Kushaha.
''The state government has informed the Nepal government through its liaison office in Kathmandu on five occasions before August 18 for seeking its administrative help in carrying out the anti-erosion works on the Kosi embankment near Kushaha but all efforts went in vain,'' Mr Singh said.
He also informed that Chief Minister Nirtish Kumar had to talk to External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee for intervention on the issue.
He also took strong exception to the leakage of letters written by Mr Mukherjee to Mr Kumar on the flood situation in Bihar and said the party would raise the matter at an appropriate time.
