Piled-up cases might result in superficial decision: Pradeep Kant
Sultanpur, Aug 30 (UNI) Focussing on the human angle while pronouncing a judgement, Allahabad High Court Justice Pradeep Kant said people should attempt finalising the matter out of the court through negotiations as piled up cases might result in ''unfair'' judgement.
Mr Pradeep Kant, who was here to inaugurate a court building today, said justice has been made a commodity selling in the law market and people are ready to swell the pockets of advocates by paying any price to bring judgement in their favour.
He further said people have started moving court for small issues, which could be easily resolved through talks and mutual consent.
Such ''mal-practices'' have resulted in piled-up cases.
In a bid to dispose the cases speedily, judges escape the human angle and end up giving superficial decision, he asserted.
Judiciary is the third estate and holds great importance in a democratic society. ''Judges work is to give fair judgement weighing all pros and cones rather than reduceing the number of cases, thus it is our prime duty to help the judiciary in giving sound judgement by reducing case burden on it'' he added.
