Naxalites blow up a Police van,killing 11 including a sub-inspector
Jamshedpur, Aug 30 (UNI) Eleven people including a sub-inspector and nine jawans were killed when Naxalites blew up a police van with landmines in East Singhbhoom district.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghatsheela Deepak Kumar told UNI that under the guidance of Sub-inspector Ravikant,a team of nine jawans of Jharkhand Sashtra Police Force were patrolling the naxal-affected areas, in the district.
During Jawans' inspection near Barudeeh dam under police station Ghatsheela in Jharkhand,the Naxalites exploded a bomb blowing up the van into pieces and killing all including the driver.
Mr Deepak said for security reasons all the personnel were patrolling on foot but later as they boarded the van, a bomb planted by naxalites in the Kucha road went off.
