Haneef's family relieved truth prevailing
Bangalore, Aug 30 (UNI) The wife of Indian doctor Mohammed Haneef who was arrested in Australia last year and later deported, today expressed relief over ''truth ultimately prevailing'' on the family.
Reacting to the Australian Federal Police, deciding to drop the case against the doctor, his wife Firdous told newsperons at her father's house here that the family always believed that Haneef had done nothing wrong and was 'framed'.
''We are really relieved. We had already proved our innocence and it was only time that the Australian police took, to realise their fault,''she said.
The 28-year-old doctor, who was arrested in Brisbane over the failed bombing attempt on Glasgow airport in UK, is now in Dubai.
However, his family did not say what he was doing in the Gulf.
He was working in a Brisbane hospital before he was arrested while he was leaving for India to see his newborn baby.
The Australian police had yesterday decided to stop further proceedings on the case for want of evidence.
