Curfew relaxed in central Kashmir's Badgam for 3 hrs
Srinagar, Aug 30 (UNI) Curfew has been relaxed in the entire Badgam district of Central Kashmir for three hours today, officials said.
They said the district administration relaxed curfew from 0900 hrs to 1200 hrs, following an improvement in the situation.
People in large numbers were out to purchase essential commodities in all parts of the district, they added.
Curfew was imposed in the district along with other parts of the Kashmir Valley on August 24 morning, following a Lal Chowk chalo call given by the Coordination Committee (CC), spearheading the present agitation in the Valley.
The CC, an alliance of both the factions of the Hurriyat Confernce (HC), and other separatist organisations, are demanding release of all detenues, opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and other roads with the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) for trade and withdrawal of troops and special powers to security forces in the Valley.
