APJDC to develop jute clusters
Hyderabad,AUG 30(UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Jute Development Centre(APJDC) had planned to develop jute clusters all over the State in coordination with the Union and State Governments.
Talking to newspersons here today, APJDC Vice Chairman, A V Rama Rao said the APJDC wanted tobacco growers to switch over to jute cultivation, promising to offer remunerative price.
Mr Rao said APJDC would provide a platform for interaction between entrepreneurs and Central and State Governments. The APJDC would also provide raw materials for entrepreneurs, inclined to start Jute Industry and a viable market for their products, he added.
The APJDC would conduct state-wide tours of foreign delegates next month to bring to light the huge export potential for value-added, environment-friendly jute products, including carpets, jute geo-textiles.
