AP CM condoles K K Birla's death
Hyderabad, Aug 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today expressed shock and grief over the death of noted industrialist K K Birla in Kolkata.
The Chief Minister said with the demise of Mr Krishna Kumar Birla, the nation had lost one of its industrial pillars.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister said ''I had a special regard for the great industrialist. We were together in the Parliament for many years. We used to interact with each other. In spite of several hurdles, it is because of his special intervention that the BITS Pilani Campus was opened at Jawaharnagar, Shamirpet and Hyderabad. He then assured me that come what may be would see that the BITS, Pilani would be established in Hyderabad and he took every care to see that the Campus was established near Hyderabad''.
''Mr Birla had special consideration for me and Andhra Pradesh.
He told me that the classes at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad centre would be started this year itself. Many of those conected with the insitutute expressed their reservations about completing the construction works and starting classes this year. But Mr Birla was firm and determined,'' he added.
