Hubli, Aug 29 (UNI) Minister for Water Resources Basavaraj Bommai today said that the State Government had been seriously thinking to constituting state and district level water management committees soon.
Talking to newsmen at Kunnur of Haveri district, he said that these committees will help in not only augmentation of water resources but also a proper management of water and also provide a consultancy in water management through offering technical skill.
The Minister, who expressed his concern over fluoride content in water in about 3300 villages of the state, said that the Government had proposed a tank network system to provide these villages with potable water through tanks.
He said that irrigation projects in Karnataka were almost on the verge of completion and the government would take appropriate action to flow water into the fields as early as possible.
