New Delhi, Aug 29 (UNI) The Supreme Court today issued notices to suspended Chief Information Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh, Mohammad Asgar Khan on a letter of reference sent by Uttar Pradesh Governor T Rajeshwar seeking permission of the apex court to dismiss Mr Khan from service.
A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishanan directed Mr Khan to respond to the letter of reference within four weeks.
Mr Khan was reportedly suspended by the state Governor on the charges of corruption.
The permission of the apex court is necessary for dismissing the suspended Commisioner as he had been appointed under the provisions of the Right to Information Act(RTI).
