New Delhi, Aug 29 (UNI) Rashid Khan completed the formalities as he signed off with a card of three-under 69 to capture the LG Northern India Amateur at the Delhi Golf Club here today.
This was Rashid's maiden title on the LG Indian Amateur Golf Tour after being No 1 on the IGU Junior circuit.
The 17-year-old ended with a tournament total of 9-under 279, seven strokes ahead of the second placed Gagan Verma.
It was double joy for Rashid as he was included in the Indian team for the prestigious Eisenhover Cup to be held in Australia.
Gagan and Saurabh Bahuguna, who finished second and third respectively, are the other members of the team which was decided on the basis of qualifying rounds held in six different courses last week.
Pawan Kumar and Moin Malak were tied at the fourth place with a total score of 296, while Jasjeet Singh was sixth at 303.
Wasim Khan put a good show finishing seventh along with H S Kang at 304. Kanishk Madan and Sidharth Seth shared the ninth position at 305.
