Chandigarh, Aug 29 (UNI) A Sirsa court has issued notice for September one to Justice (Retd) G C Garg regarding his appointment as Returning Officer for holding elections to Haryana Olympic Association (HOA).
The District Rural Games Association (DRGA) Sirsa President Radhey Ram, in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division, Sirsa, has challenged the appontment of Justice (Retd) Garg, who has fixed the date of HOA elections on September seven.
Earlier, Radhey Ram in a communication to Justice (Retd) GC Garg had sought clarification from him to disclose the name and designation of the appointing authority of the Returning Officer in matters of the Haryana Olympic Association on priority basis for filing legal objections.
Stating that DRGA is a duly affiliated unit of the HOA, headed by Abhey Singh Chautala and recognised by the Indian Olympic Association, Radhey Ram has pointed out that the elections of the HOA have already been held on October two at Sirsa as per the constitution of the HOA and the IOA.
Abhey Chautala was unanimously re-elected president of the HOA for the term of next four years -- from October two, 2007 to October one, 2011. The other office-bearers were also elected the same day and the elections were approved by the apex sports body of the country, Indian Olympic Association, he said.
