Ranchi, Aug 29 (UNI) Condemning the ongoing attacks on Christian missionaries in Orissa, new Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren today said its repurcussion would not get reflected in his state.
Delivering his maiden speech in the House during the trust motion, Mr Soren said Christian missionaries were living under terror in Orissa.
'' My government will try to maintain communal harmony among all sections of the society in the state, '' Mr Soren said.
Mr Soren also dismissed any conflict between tribals and non-tribals during his regime, saying a section of people had misinterpreted his feelings.
Those elements had always tried to create friction among tribals and non-tribals but actually there was nothing like that.
'' Neither have I criticised anyone nor hurt anyone's feeling, but still I am branded as bad element...it's only because I am an agitator and have fought for Jharkhand, '' Mr Soren said.
Urging support from Treasury and Opposition benches in the House, the sixth Chief Minister said he believed in delivering goods rather than making promises.
'' Pura Desh dekh raha hai ki Shibu Soren kya Karega...(the eyes of whole country was on me and they were waiting for my first step), '' he said.
Admitting that no system was flawless, he said his government would focus on issues and work efficiently.
Expressing concern over miserable condition of tribals in the state, he said the condition of adivasis was pathetic in Chhattisgarh and Assam also.
Speaking on the flood fury in Bihar, he said the situation in neighbouring state was grim and relief would be sent very soon.
