HP to spend Rs 40 cr on sports infrastructure

Mandi, Aug 29 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government would spend a sum of Rs 40 crore on the development of basic infrastructure for promotion of sports in the state.

This was stated by Forest Minister J P Nadda today, while inaugurating the two-day first state-level Dhayan Chand Memorial Hockey Tournament to mark the Birth Anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, which is celebrated as the National Sports day.

Nadda called upon players of all games to work hard and distinguish themselves at national and international level and added, ''the government would leave no stone unturned in providing all facilities''.
