Govt suspends nine officials for provocative statements in Kishtwar
Jammu, Aug 29 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government today suspended nine officials for allegedly making provocative statements and creating communal tension in Kishtwar district of the state, official sources here said.
However, a Magisterial probe has also been ordered into the communal clashes while stern action would be taken against those who would be found guilty, official sources added.
''Nine government officials have been suspended from different departments for inciting public by their provocative statements to create communal clashes in the town on August 12,'' a senior official said.
The action was taken on the basis of a report submitted by the Superintendent of Police, the official added.
Meanwhile, 25 people were also arrested by the police in Poonch district yesterday for trying to create communal wedge between the two communities, sources added.
''The miscreants were trying to create a communal divide through misinformation being spread by them among the people,'' official sources maintained.
