Guwahati, Aug 29 (UNI) Former national swimming champion Elvis Ali Hazarika has created a sort of record swimming 26 hrs non stop in a 50-metre swimming pool.
He stopped swimming at 2200 hrs last night after after being told he swam non-stop 26 hrs as he was watched by hundreds of his supporters, family members and sports organisers.
An exhausted Elvis was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was recorvered quickly.
Braving the inclement weather, he started swimming inside the B P Chaliha pool of Nehru Stadium Sports Complex on Wednesday night.
The former CRPF employee, was found suprisingly strong even after the herculean task.
Never before such an attempt was made anywhere in India, Elvis claimed adding that this was his prepartion for English chennel crossing.
