DISCOMS assure Delhi CM of sufficient power supply in coming months
New Delhi, Aug 29 (UNI) Allaying concern over a power shortage in the capital, the private power distribution companies or the Discoms today assured Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit that there would be no shortage of power supply in the city in coming months.
The assurance was given at a high level review meeting presided by the Chief Minister to take stock of the power distribution in the Capital.
At the meeting, attended by Power Minister A K Walia, Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta, principal Secretary to CM P K Tripathi, Secretary DERC, Secretary Power, CEOs of DISCOMs, MD IPGCL, CMD Transco, MD Genco., the DISCOMs said the power breakdowns in the city were occurring due to over with drawal of power by various states from the national grid, resulting in decrease in the frequency and power availability in Delhi.
DISCOMs also informed that all out efforts would be taken to overcome any unforeseen situation in he Capital.
Ms Dikshit directed the DISCOMs to make necessary arrangements to ensure uninterrupted power supply for upcoming festive season.
DISCOMs assured the Chief Minister that sufficient power would be available in the coming months.
