CYG Pune baton relay to pass through Goa in Sept

Panaji, Aug 29 (UNI) Goa's sports and youth affairs minister Manohar Azgaonkar will receive the III Commonwealth Youth Games-Pune baton relay that passes through the tourist state on September 12 and 13.

The relay, that started from the Red Fort in New Delhi, reaches Goa after passing through six states and culminates on October 8 in Pune, where the event is scheduled to begin on October 12 to 18, according to an official release here today.

A special meeting held under the chairmanship of Mr Azgaonkar had worked out the details of the reception for the mega event today.

Various dignitories including the Governor, speaker, chief minister, ministers, legislators, the state director general of police and Goa University Vice-Chancellor would attend the relay at different places.
