Bangalore, Aug 29 (UNI) Stating that elections to the Lok Sabha can be held 'any time' Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said the process of finalising candidates list to the general elections will resume from September 2.
Talking to newspersons Mr Naqvi, who was to oversee preparations for the party's National Executive Meeting scheduled for three days from September 12 here, said party's Central Election Committee (CEC) will resume its process to finalise the list of party candidates from September 2.
He said the central party leaders had instructed all the state units to come out with a blue-print of strategies to fight the coming elections. ''The party expects announcement of elections to Lok Sabha anytime and BJP was way ahead with other political parties in facing it,'' he added.
The BJP leader said the party's National Executive Meeting was important, as it was being held before the announcement of assembly polls to Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Mizoram, Jammu and Kashmir and probably Jharkhand by this year end.
He said over 200 party functionaries, including NDA's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani, national president Rajnath Singh, chief ministers of seven BJP-ruled states and others were participating.
He said issues relating to inflation, threat to national security both internal and external, failure of the UPA government in handling Jammu&Kashmir issue and meddling with the faith and belief of the people of the country, will come up for discussion during the meet.
The leaders will also address a public meeting 'Sankalpa Rally' organised by the state unit of the party on September 13, he added UNI MV MSP SP RAI1910
