Ahmedabad-Vadodara train services hit following derailment
Vadodara, Aug 29 (UNI) Train services between Ahmedabad and Vadodara on the Western Railway was disrupted for about two hours after an empty goods train derailed at Vadodara station today.
Railway sources here said one of the wagons of the goods train jumped the rails near the common loop-line and blocked the up line, while departing from the Vadodara railway yard.
No one was injured in the accident, which took place at around 0600 hrs.
As a result of the derailment, schedule of as many as eight long distance trains, including 2918 Gujarat Sampark Kranti Express, 1469 Bhopal-Rajkot express, 6338 Rajkot-Trivandrum express, 8405 Puri-Ahmedabad express, 2934 Karnavati express, 9116 Sayaji express, 9114 Vadodara-Bilal express and 2479 Suryanagari express was affected.
Train services were normalised nearly after two hours, the sources said.
