World Gujarat Conference in New Jersey from Aug 29
Ahmedabad, Aug 28 (UNI) The three-day second World Gujarati Conference ''Chaalo Gujarat'' will be held from August 29 in New Jersey, US.
A number of exclusively devised and developed art and cultural offerings will be the major attractions for all those who will be participating.
An initiative taken up by Association of Indian Americans in North America (AAINA), the conference is an effort to motivate those particularly from the younger generation and brought up in US to be made familiar with the rich cultural and traditional values of Gujarat.
The conference promises to be a congregation of leaders, musicians, poets, literatures, businessmen, academicians and sportspersons who will share the same stage and express their feelings of brotherhood and togetherness for their community. It promises to be an amalgamation of traditional values and modern outlook.
In a yet another attraction, a Gujarati Anthem 'Yaahom Gujarati' has been created exclusively for the event, said Mr Dhwanit Thaker, arguably Ahmedabad's most popular Radio Jockey, who came up with the idea of writing a fresh anthem for the event while discussing on the theme. Parag Shastri, famous for 'Mystic India' film based on Swaminarayan sect, has composed the music for the anthem.
Gujarati theatre, director and renowned writer Saumya Joshi will be performing 'Air India 75 from Narsanda to New York', a play specially written for the World Gujarati Conference.
Political leaders Like Saurabh Patel, Siddharth Patel, Leader of the Opposition Shakti Sinh Gohil, humour artists and poets -- Vinod Bhatt, Bhuikudan Gadhavi, academicians Bakul Dholakia will be attending the conference besides eminent singers Pankaj Udhas, Manahar Udhas and Niramal Udhas will perform very first time together on stage at the event.
