Lucknow, Aug 28: The alliance between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress in Uttar Pradesh in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls would take a final shape in a meeting of the seniors leaders of both the parties on August 30 and 31 in New Delhi or Lucknow.
Making an announcement in this regard, Congress General Secretary and in charge of UP affairs Digvijay Singh said various modalities of the Congress-SP alliance would be decided in the meeting.
He said the venue of the meeting was yet to be finalised, but it would take place either in New Delhi or Lucknow.
Talking to reporters here before the coordination committee meeting of the Congress to be chaired by party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, Mr Singh said the issues related to seat ajustment would also be discussed during the August 30-31 meeting.
The meeting assumes significance since the alliance between the Mulayam Singh Yadav's SP and Congress was now a foregone conclusion with only micro issues left to be decided between the two parties.
