Slain Assam soldier's body brought home
Guwahati, Aug 28 (UNI) The body of slain lance naik Lakhiram Basumatary, killed by terrorists' bullets in Jammu and Kashmir, was today brought to his native village of Amalaguri in Assam's Sonitpur district.
Basumatary was part of the 12 Assam Regiment, 128 Infantry Division, and had fallen prey to the terrorist guns at Timple Post in Guguldar on August 25.
His body was flown to Guwahati this morning, from where it was taken to his native village in the afternoon.
Basumatary had served the Army for 12 years.
