Silver, Gold opens low on Aug 28
Mumbai, Aug 28: Silver and gold opened low on Thursday, Aug 28 with silver easing by Rs 25 per kg to open at Rs 21,135 and gold by Rs 5 per ten gm to open at Rs 11,890 from their last close, on sustained heavy selling pressure by industrial users, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.
In the international market a reverse trend was seen as gold firmed to USD 831.65/832.65 an ounce from USD 826.05/827.45, an ounce while silver also edged up to USD 13.60/13.66 an ounce from USD 13.49/13.55 an ounce late in New York. Both the precious metals in the international market, glittered owing to firm crude oil and weak dollar. Following were the opening domestic spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 21,135 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 11,890 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 11,965.
