Samiti Govt to hold fourth round of talks today

Jammu, Aug 28 (UNI) Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS) and the four-member panel appointed by the Jammu and Kashmir Governor to resolve the land controversy, would hold the fourth round of talks here this evening, sources said.

''The SAYSS members have received an official invitation from the administration and they have agreed to hold fourth round of dialogue to find an amicable solution to the restoration of 40 hectares of land to the Shrine Board,'' a Samiti official told UNI.

The talks, however, would be held today at around 1630 hrs at the state guest house Jammu, sources added.

Meanwhile, Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS)- a conglomerate of 45 religious, social and political organisations, spearheading the agitation for the restoration of land to the Shrine Board (SASB) yesterday cancelled its proposed rally scheduled to be held at Parade Ground following a militant attack in Chinore area on the Jammu outskirts.

The four-member government panel comprise former state chief secretary S S Bloeria, Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University Prof Amitabh Mattoo, retired Judge of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Justice G D Sharma, and Chief Executive Officer of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) B B Vyas, while the Samiti panel included Mr Tilak Raj Sharma, Brigadier Suchet Singh, Mr Narinder Singh and Pawan Kohli.
