PM, Sonia survey 'left-over' Bihar
{image-flood in Bihar_28082008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Purnia, Aug 28: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Thursday, Aug 28 arrived at the Chunapur airbase in Purnia by special aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) for aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Bihar.
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, Union Minister of State for Water Resources Jai Prakash Narain Yadav and Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly Rabri Devi also accompanied the Prime Minister and UPA Chairperson. Soon after arrival here, the Prime Minister and Ms Gandhi left for the aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of the state by three IAF choppers, along with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Union Minister of State for Water Resources Jai Prakash Narain Yadav and Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly Rabri Devi.
Earlier, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister welcomed the Prime Minister, UPA chairperson and other union ministers at Chunapur air base here.
Dr Singh and Ms Gandhi, along with the union ministers, would fly back from Chunapur airbase of Purnia to New Delhi, after the aerial survey.
