Patwari caught taking bribe in Nagpur
Nagpur, Aug 28: Sleuths from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a Patwari (an important and effective official of the lowest ebb in the revenue agency) red-handed, when allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a landowner, police said.
According to police, the Patwari, identified as Ashok Namdeorao Lokhande (46), was caught after he accepted the money from the complainant, Rajendra Khobragade, in Mauda, about 45 kilometres from here, last evening.
Lokhande had asked for the money to carry out changes in the ownership record of Khobragade's property, they said.
An offence has been registered against Lokhande and he has been placed under arrest, police added.
