Kolkata, Aug 28(UNI) Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today said no foreign country would be able to intervene in India's military strategy after operationalisation of the India-US civil nuclear deal.
''Being a union minister, I can say that no foreign country can interfere in India's military strategy once the India-US nuclear agreement gets operational,'' he said at the 55th foundation day celebration of the Chhatra Parishad, the students wing of the Congress in West Bengal.
Accusing the CPI(M) and other Left parties of misleading students and the youth about the deal, Mr Dasmunsi said nuclear power was the only resource which could fulfil the country's future energy requirement.
'' While the measure is to keep pace with the country's energy requirement in the coming days, some political parties do not want India to progress,'' he said.
