Liberty from mental slavery is must: Govindacharya
Jabalpur, Aug 28 (UNI) Former Bharatiya Janata Party leader K N Govindacharya today said that slavery was dangerous in every form and mental slavery always proved fatal.
Mr Govindacharya said here while addressing a symposium on the topic 'Sanskriti evam Samridhi' (culture and prosperity) on the platform of Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan and Swadeshi Jagaran.
''Besides Britishers, India remained plagued by the imperialism of various alien rulers which affected our culture, thoughts, language, and food habits,'' he said.
He asserted that it was impossible to comprehend Indian culture on occidental scenario hence he wanted to uproot the impact of western background.
''For country's omni-directional development it becomes very necessary to make society free from the clutches of mental slavery,'' he said.
Mr Govindacharya said that without any political party he would constructive work towards country's interest.
