Cong favouring ultras: Advani
Ujjain, MP, Aug 28 (UNI) Lauding the Gujarat government for exposing the terrorist nexus behind the blasts in various places in India, the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial nominee L K Advani today accused the Congress of arguing in favour of militants.
''A ban was placed on the Students Islamic Movement of India during the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance's tenure but the Congress argues in favour of SIMI. Did not that party's Uttar Pradesh unit President do so,'' he said at a mammoth public meeting here.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha pointed out that the Supreme Court reversed a High Court order and upheld the ban.
''Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru is yet to be executed. The government will have to provide an answer at the hustings,'' Mr Advani said.
