New Delhi, Aug 28 (UNI) Despite bombings in Bangalore that had prompted the cancellation of a tennis tournament, Australia's cricket Test series in India will begin in the city as planned in October, a BCCI official has said.

The ATP, which runs the men's tennis tour, called off the Bangalore Open after more than a dozen small bombs exploded accross the city late last month.

The tennis tournament had been scheduled for September.

However, BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said a team from Cricket Australia had given security clearance to the Indian venues for the four Tests.

''No changes are there in the itinerary of the Australian cricket team,'' Shah said.

The first India-Australia cricket Test will be played in Bangalore from October 9-13.

The remaining Tests will be played in Mohali, New Delhi and Nagpur.
