Jammu, Aug 28 (UNI) Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS) today demanded a high-level inquiry to ascertain the nexus between the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and ISI and militants outfits operating from across the border.
''Statements of the militants, who kept six people, including four children as hostages, with some news channels exposed the nexus between Kashmiri leadership and militant outfits operating from Pakistan,'' alleged Tilak Raj Sharma, a senior member of the SAYSS at a press conference here.
Expressing deep condolence over the loss of innocent human lives in the Chinore massacre, Mr Sharma said, ''it is important to note that the holed-up militants were echoing voices of Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah and other separatist organisations. The ultras were pointing towards issue of so-called economic blockade and alleged atrocities on Kashmiris.'' The leader said the infiltration of a group of militants from the International Border (IB) from the Kanachak area authenticated direct links of Kashmiri leadership, including PDP and NC, with the ISI and the United Jehad Council operating from across the border.
He added, ''PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has been repeatedly threatening the Jammu people of dire consequences for their ongoing movement.'' ''Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha has already exposed PDP's links with the militant outfits and Chinore massacre has further substantiated the statement of Lt Gen Sinha,'' Mr Sharma said.
The SAYSS, however, also demanded adequate compensation and ex-gratia to the kin of those who have lost their lives or got injured in the attack.
