Shutdown in Orissa over the killing of VHP leader
Bhubneshwar, Aug 25, 2008: Orissa on Monday observed a shutdown to protest against the assassination of a local VHP leader Laxmanananda Saraswati and his four associates.The shutdown has been called by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bharatiya Janata party. The Protestors alleged the government of being incompetent in protecting the dignitaries.The 85-year-old Laxmanananda Saraswati was gunned down on Saturday by about 30 heavily armed unknown men.
