PM arrives tomorrow for aerial survey of Bihar floods
Patna, Aug 27 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi will conduct an aerial survey of the flood affected areas in north Bihar tomorrow.
According to informed sources, Mr Singh and Mrs Gandhi, accompanied by Railway minister Lalu Prasad, would reach Purnia airport by a special IAF aircraft at around 0900 hours and make an aerial survey of the most affected zones by a helicopter.
They are scheduled to come back to Purnia before returning to New Delhi in the afternoon to attend a meeting there to discuss the flood situation in Bihar with the concerned ministers and senior officials.
A financial package to deal with the unprecedented natural calamity might also be announced by the Prime minister after the meeting, the sources added.
