Tirupati, Aug 27 (UNI) In view of the helicopter meant for actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi making rounds of the seven hills in Tirumala yesterday giving anxious moments for the TTD officials, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board Chairman D K Adikesavulu Naidu today said he would appeal to the Union Government to declare airspace over Tirumala Hills as a 'no fly-zone'.
Addressing the press here, Mr Naidu said the need for such a move was highlighted during the first meeting with the TTD officials, including Chief Vigilance Officer Ramanakumar, as part of strengthening the security at Tirumala temple, which was also on the terror hit list.
''We will meet the Union Civil Aviation Minister on September three at Bangalore and ask him to declare the air space over the hills, as no fly zone.
Two helicopters engaged by Chiranjeevi's fans to ferry the actor to the venue in case of a traffic jam were seen hovering over the venue where the actor addressed his maiden political meeting yesterday.The pilots flew over the world famous Sri Venkateswara temple violating the 'no fly zone' rule and the temple's sanctity, a TTD official said.
