Patiala placed strongly against Mohali in DP Trophy
Patiala, Aug 27 (UNI) A brilliant century, caution mixed with aggression, by Jeevanjot Singh (102), has placed Patiala happily against Mohali on the penultimate day of the three-day final match of the Punjab Inter-District cricket tournament (under-19) for Dhruv Pandove Trophy here today at the Dhruv Pandove Stadium.
Overnight 6 for no loss, Patiala resumed their innings today on a quiet note. As the innings progressed, the Patiala batsmen were in full command and went on to score 318 in the allotted 95 overs before being all out. The star performer, Jeevanjot Singh, was well supported by Himanshu Chawla (39), Gauravpreet (28) and Sahil (28).
Thus, Patiala overtook Mohali's total of 260 to score 318, taking a lead of 58 runs.
For Mohali, Jaskaran captured 3 wickets, conceding 52 runs, Harpreet Golu also took equal number of wickets, giving away 57 runs. Gunjot took 2 for 93.
In the second essay, Mohali were 5 without loss in one over at stumps. Unless something dramatic happens tomorrow.
Patiala are well in sight of lifting the Dhruv Pandove Trophy which they fully deserve.
