Bangalore, Aug 27 (UNI) Top scientists and technocrats from DRDO, armed forces and Central Intelligence agencies would attend the two-day 4th National Conference on IT in defence to be held here from August 29.
Organised jointly by CSI and DRDO, the conference with the theme of 'Networking and Network Centric Operations' will deal on the use of the 'state-of-the art' in defence weapons systems and military applications and laying emphasis on the role of computers and IT.
Briefing reporters on the event, Chairman and former DRDO Director C R Chakravarthy said the conference would bring all the armed forces, intelligence agencies, academia and the IT industry on a single platform.
''IT, especially advances made in networking, has changed the entire complexion of warfare and battlefield management, real time command and control, communications, software and quick reaction time weapon system for the heart of the modern battlefield. India has made rapid advances in the field and has become self reliant,'' he said.
Noted speakers in the conference include the Chairman of newly formed National Technical Resource Organisation (NTRO) KVVS Prasad Rao and renowned DRDO scientists like Dr Prahlada, V K Saraswat, N Sitaram, Rear Admiral V Karunanithi and Brigadier D G Bhat, he added.
