Bangalore, Aug 26 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Council V S Ugrappa said the BJP government had failed to tackle the drought situation prevailing in parts of the state.
Speaking to reporters he said the Yeddyurappa-led government was busy in its heinous 'Operation Lotus' to lure legislators from opposition parties and was not bothered about the welfare of the people.
It had also failed to implement the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme effectively, he said.
He demanded the government to take up the relief works by immediately providing of drinking water and fodder in the areas affected by drought and floods. Otherwise the Congress party would take the issue before the people.
