Shop vandalised, shopkeepers scared in Thane
Thane, Aug 26 (UNI) A group of unknown miscreants today vandalised a garment shop and scared the shopkeepers around the Naupada locality here.
Following the attack, the shopkeepers around the locality observed a bandh for the day and opened their shops only in the evening.
According to reports, the group of miscreants carried all kinds of weapons and used them freely in the attack.
However, so far no arrest has been made by the police in this connection.
Meanwhile, though there were allegations that the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena(MNS), which had asked the shopkeepers to display the name of their shops in Marathi, has resorted to the attack, the MNS spokesman Rajan Ganvand denied it saying that the MNS had given time till August 28 to the shopkeepers.
If the shopkeepers did not budge by that time, then further course of action would be taken, he said and added that under the present circumstances, the MNS will never resort to such a cowardly act.
