Fatehgarh Sahib, Aug 26 (UNI) Punjab's Shahi Imam, Maulana Habib-ur-rehman Sa-ani Ludhianavi, today disfavoured the move to create a separate Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for Sikhs in Haryana.
Addressing a press conference at Sirhind in this district, he said that since Shirommani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee had been properly handling affairs of Gurdwaras in the country, there was no need to create a separate panel in Haryana.
He accused the Congress of being behind the demand of separate Gurdwara committee in Haryana.
The Moulana, who is also national president of All India Majlis Asrar Islam Hind, said that his party would extend support to Shiromani Akali Dal in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election as it was concerned about the muslim of the state.
When asked about the alliance of SAD with BJP, he said his party had nothing to do with the BJP and would extend support only to the SAD. In other states also it would support the parties which uphold the interests of the muslims, he added.
