Guwahati, Aug 26 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's two days' itinerary to Assam was rescheduled due to bad weather condition since his arrival here yesterday.

Though the weather prevented him from travelling to Nagaon and Kokrajhar, the Prime Minister okayed three more bridges to be built over the Brahamputra river.

One of the bridges would came up at Majuli, the world's largest riverine island which is now facing erosion.

The PM also laid a foundation stone of the fourth medical college and hospital in Jorhat. Two more medical colleges are coming up in Assam.

Meanwhile, the Assam government has urged the Prime Minister for early solution to the vexed Bangladeshi problem.

The Assam government has been demanding for a bilateral dialogue with Bangladesh to sort out boundary problem in this region.

It also urged for finalisation of modalities for the National Register of Citizen(NRC) at the earliest.

Dr Singh had talks with the council of ministers and various other groups at a venue where the opposition political parties walked out alleging ''shabby treatment'' by the officials while keeping them waiting for more than two hours.

At Jorhat yesterday, he met the heads of monasteries and assured them to look into their grievances.
