Mozart tops 'Britain's Favourite Male Classical Composers' list
London, Aug 26 : Mozart has topped a new list of 'Britain's Favourite Classical Composer'.
His over 600 compositions include works widely acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, piano, operatic, and choral music, reports the Telegraph.
Mozart is among the most enduringly popular of classical composers, and many of his works are part of the standard concert repertoire.
He has beaten Beethoven to earn the top spot in a joint poll run by Classic FM and Radio Times.
Elgar came third, followed by Tchaikovsky at fourth position and Vaughan Williams at fifth.
More than 30,000 people took part in the poll.
