Indian junior team leaves for FIBA Asia Basketball Championship

New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) The Indian team left to participate in the 20th FIBA Asia Basketball Championship for junior men at Tehran, Iran which gets underway from 28th August.

India has been placed in Group A which also include China, Japan and Hong Kong.

Before leaving for the tournament which will conclude on September 5, the Indian team trained hard in a coaching camp at Bangalore since the last month and a half.

Serbia's Alaksandar Bucan will accompany as the team for India and will be assisted by John Mahesh Rao.

Delhi and Chhattisgarh have the maximum representatives in the team with three palyers each from both the states.

Team: Sunil Kumar, Vinay Kaushik and Nitin Shakya (Delhi), Pethani Rinkin S, Dishant Vipul Shah (Gujarat), Hirender Singh Rathore (Rajasthan), Arjun Singh, Shadab Khan (UP), Vishesh Bhrighuvanhsi (Indian Railways), Pratham Singh, Kiran Pal Singh, Ankit Panigrahi (Chhatisgarh), Alaksandar Bucan (Foreign Coach, Serbia), John Mahesh Rao (Coach, Karnataka), Shafique Sheihk (Manager), Rajnarayan Patro (FIBA Referee).
