HP gets Rs 400 crore for PMGSY
Shimla, Aug 26 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has received Rs 400 crore under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna during the current financial year against Rs 286 crore received during the previous year.
This was stated by Public Work Minister Thakur Gulab Singh while interacting with a delegation of National Rural Road Development Authority and World Bank which met him to discuss various matters regarding implementation of PMGSY here last evening.
He said that a target of constructing and upgrading 11,292 Kms roads has been fixed under the scheme. Out of the total target, 5455 kms roads have already been constructed and 3562 villages have been provided connectivity under the scheme.
He said that the State Government has fixed a target of connecting villages having population of atleast 500 by the year 2009.
