Mumbai, Aug 26 (UNI) A local court today awarded life imprisonment to four people for murdering a man, who was allegedly having an affair with one of the accused's wife.

According to the prosecution, four persons--Popat Pisal, Sandeep Kate, Sanjay Samge and Ravsaheb Pisal-- had murdered 23-year-old Ravindar Pisal, who was allegedly having illicit relationship with Ravsaheb's wife, Manisha Pisal.

Ravsaheb used to live in suburban Mulund area while his wife was taking care of their agricultural land in Purandhar district in Pune.

Agitated over this, Ravsaheb paid Rs 3,000 to the other accused and conspired to murder Ravindar. Accordingly, the four kidnapped the victim on March 27, 2002 and took him to Ujaloni village in Raigad district.

The four then smashed Ravindar's head with a stone and threw his dead body off a hill there.

The court had examined seven witnesses in this regard who had given evidences against the accused persons and also relied on the medical and other evidences.

The Court while convicting them also imposed a fine of Rs 3000 each.
